Deutsche Post launches its DMC stamp

On February 4, Deutsche Post launched its data matrix stamp. Royal Joh. Enschedé (RJE) printed these stamps, which all have a unique data matrix code (DMC). This new stamp with data matrix code technology are readable in all Deutsche Post sorting centres. Each code can be used only once and is scanned at two points along the route which prevents counterfeiting and makes the path of a letter traceable to some extent. In order to meet quality requirements, RJE used a professional high-speed camera inspection line to check the printed sheets, which was used in the past to check the Euro banknotes.
