Martin Garrix Stamp 2020
About the project
Royal Joh. Enschedé (KJE) and WijDoenDingen have collaborated with Martin Garrix and PostNL to develop the first Dutch interactive stamp. PostNL introduced the first interactive stamp with Martin Garrix which, in combination with an app on a smartphone, displays a digital 3D animation of the artist. The link between a stamp, an app and a smartphone makes a stamp or a note come to life. New content can be added multiple times, each time opening up a new experience. This innovative layer enriches the printing and graphic craftsmanship that KJE is known for. Especially for this issue, an app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and the Apple Store. By scanning the stamps from the app, an AR application (augmented reality) starts with a virtual performance by Martin Garrix.
“It’s a really fantastic app,” says Stephan van den Eijnden, PostNL’s commercial director Mail. “You first get a video call from Martin Garrix and then it shows itself how you can have this famous DJ perform at your home. The app is free, you just have to buy and scan the stamps.”
The app was created through collaboration between PostNL, Royal. Joh. Enschedé, Wij Doen Dingen, and Martin Garrix B.V.
