The Augmented Reality Stamp
Royal Joh. Enschedé (RJE) and WijDoenDingen (Translates to: We do things) have collaborated with world famous DJ Martin Garrix and PostNL to develop the first Dutch interactive stamp. PostNL introduced the first interactive stamp with Martin Garrix which, in combination with an app on a smartphone, displays a digital 3D animation of the artist.
RJE is known worldwide as a supplier of value printing and has been printing banknotes and value stamps for centuries. In collaboration with the design agency WijDoenDingen, which specializes in digital media and marketing, the company is now bringing innovations to the traditional world of stamps. The link between a stamp, an app and a smartphone makes a stamp or a note come to life.
New content can be added multiple times, each time opening up a new experience. This innovative layer enriches the printing and graphic craftsmanship that RJE is known for. Especially for this issue, an app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play and the Apple Store. By scanning the stamps from the app, an AR application (augmented reality) starts a virtual performance by Martin Garrix.
