Royal Joh. Enschedé and the VriendenLoterij unveil new ‘banknotes’!

Haarlem, December 22nd. Following the success of the golden Dennis Bergkamp banknote and the “Nick and Simon Tenner,” Royal Joh. Enschedé breathes new life into banknotes as a special production with the VriendenLoterij VIP-LOT: a collector’s item for participants of the VriendenLoterij as a token of appreciation for their participation.

Geert Friebel, Head of Marketing & Partnerships at VriendenLoterij, says, “Thanks to our fantastic participants, we can annually donate a significant amount to culture, welfare, and sports in the Netherlands. We show our appreciation with a specially designed VIP-LOT, in addition to the VIP-KAART, which grants free access to over 150 museums. The icons on this ticket represent themes supported by VriendenLoterij, a true collector’s item as a thank-you. Moreover, the ticket symbolizes a free chance to win 1 million euros in the extra VIP draw, and the physical ticket can also be scanned, unlocking an online world full of augmented reality experiences.”

Gelmer Leibbrandt, Director of Royal Joh. Enschedé, adds, “Even after 300 years, we remain the ‘Printer of Value.’ In addition to the craftsmanship of our printers, we now add digital elements to the banknotes. For companies looking to enhance their brand, the link with social media offers the opportunity to create interaction with the target audience.”

These so-called “Notable” banknotes are released as special productions but with all the characteristics of a real banknote. Notable banknotes are distributed worldwide as sales promotion tools for retail companies, theme parks, and casinos. They also stimulate merchandising for sports clubs or bands during a tour.
